Tommy G. Thompson, JD
President

Tommy G. Thompson has dedicated much of his life to public service.

As the United States’ nineteenth Secretary of Health and Human Services, Gov. Thompson was the nation's leading advocate for the health and welfare of all Americans. In 2001, his department employed more than 60,000 personnel and managed a $429 billion budget.

During his 14 years as Governor of Wisconsin, Thompson focused on revitalizing Wisconsin's economy. He also gained national attention for his leadership on welfare reform, expanded access to health care for low-income people, and education.

Gov. Thompson holds Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
